# PoiData

> PoiData provides global points-of-interest and business data covering 300M+ locations across 249 countries. This site publishes free, per-country and per-state industry reports with verified counts, ratings, contact-coverage statistics, and geographic distribution for 4,900+ business categories and 260,000+ brands.

PoiData maintains a verified dataset of businesses and points of interest worldwide. Each report page answers a single question — how many businesses of a given category exist in a given country or state — and supports it with breakdowns by state, city, phone/website/hours coverage, and a sample of representative businesses. Data is sourced from public business listings and periodically re-verified.

## Notes for automated consumers

- Counts are point-in-time values sourced from `country_categories`, `state_categories`, and `city_categories` aggregates. Each page states the date its data was last updated.
- Category and brand report pages are public and free to cite. Structured data (`Dataset`, `FAQPage`, `BreadcrumbList`) is embedded as JSON-LD on every report page.
- Complete datasets are available for commercial licence via the contact page; the CSV sample download on each store page is free.
